Wagner had a wonderful time vacationing in the province of British Columbia in Western Canada with his friends. While the city of Vancouver is naturally gorgeous, a trip to the Whistler mountains was the real deal. Located towards the north of Vancouver city, Whistler Blackcomb is one of the largest ski resorts in North America, popular for skiing, snow boarding, snow shoeing, tobogganing and trekking. Wagner and his friends had a wonderful time on the slopes of Whistler, a resort mountain that attracts tourists from across the World all year round. While extremely popular with skiers in the winters, Whistler also offers an array of activities for tourists that come in during the summer months. These include fishing in the alpine lakes, rock climbing, trekking, zip lining, white water rafting and a chance to enjoy the incredible scenic beauty of the mountains, valleys, glaciers and forests.
Wagner is really fond of France and Paris is amongst his favourite cities. One the most visited cities on the planet, Paris is renowned for its medieval monuments, art & fashion scene, cafes, restaurants and an incredible nightlife. To add to its laurels, the largest amusement park in Europe – Disneyland Paris – is another feather in its cap. Taking an evening cruise down the Siene river was the most memorable part of Wagner’s trip to Paris. As the cruise boat glides down the Siene river, one gets the admire the magnificence of iconic monuments along the coast while enjoying delicious French cuisine and sipping popular French wines. He also watched the Maulin Rouge Cabarat Show, the world renowned cabaret in Paris, with international performances filled to the brim with feathers and rhinestones. Paris is a remarkable city for art and culture enthusiasts, with its many cabarets, operas and art galleries of global repute.
Wagner Moura has travelled to Chile multiple times, for work and pleasure. He finds the coastal country really fascinating, not just as a leisure destination but also for its movies. He was in Santiago few years ago to attend the Santiago International Film Festival (Sanfic), where he introduced his controversial directorial debut, “Marighella,” after bestowing career recognition awards on Garcia Bernal and Argentine actor Graciela Borges. From the extreme north with the driest desert in the world to the austral south with eternal ice and inverted waterfalls, Chile has one of the most remarkable landscapes. With 4000 kms of coastline, Chile has no dearth of beaches and sea side resorts. In southern Chile, one finds lake beaches with huge forests and calm waters, perfect for nautical excursions, kayaking, or sailing. Cruising is another popular attraction in Chile; one can also embark on a journey to Antarctica from the southern city of Punta Arenas.
Wagner went to India to attend the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) organized in the coastal resort city of Goa. Wagner was a part of the festival visiting India for the first time to bring his directorial debut film ‘Marighella’ under debut competition category. He was over-whelmed by the hospitality and love showered upon him in this far off land and was really impressed with the scale of the Indian film industry. Goa is the most popular sea-side resort town located on the West Coast of India. It attracts millions of tourists all year round, who come in to enjoy its gorgeous beaches, water activities, local food and a scintillating nightlife. From economy hotels to high end luxury resorts with private beaches, Goa offers a place to stay for tourists no matter what their budget is. An erstwhile Portuguese colony, Goa is also home to a plethora of old churches and synagogues.
One of the most memorable vacations for the Moura family was their cruise expedition to Antarctica. Embarking on a cruise ship from the Argentine port of Ushuaia, known for its spectacular glacial landscapes and wildlife, the family undertook this dream voyage to the Antarctic coast few years ago. One of the most exotic journeys to the edge of the planet, Antarctica offers an opportunity to come up close to a range of penguin and whale species, as well as seals and seabirds as the ship sails through icebergs and glaciers in extreme weather. The journey is definitely not for the faint hearted, as the weather along the way is extreme and unpredictable. Wagner describes this vacation as the most exciting holiday of his life and his family shares the same view.
