Mel Gibson, a Hollywood legend, made his American debut in The Bounty (1984), alongside Anthony Hopkins. Later, he portrayed "Martin Riggs" in what would become his hallmark series, Lethal Weapon (1987). In 1990, he played the intriguing leading role in Hamlet, which earned him great acclaim. He also directed the 1992 film Forever Young, which was more appealing, and the slightly scary The Man Without a Face (1993). He received two Academy Awards for Best Picture and Best Director for his performance as "Sir William Wallace" in Braveheart (1995), which was arguably the most renowned role of his career. His subsequent box office successes include The Patriot (2000), Ransom (1996), and Payback (1999). Today, Mel is still a global celebrity mogul, consistently leading Hollywood's power rankings and standing among its highest-paid celebrities.
Mel recounts his travels to Hungary as some of his favourite memories. The candle light dinner cruise on the Danube river is as romantic as it comes, when it comes to an evening excursion in an exotic country. The cruise passes by beautiful illuminated buildings as dine & wine, passing by the Chain Bridge, the Elisabeth Bridge, and the Hungarian Parliament along the way. Local musicians play Hungarian music to entertain you on this incredible voyage. Tour of wineries in the Etyek Wine region near Budapest was most enjoyable for Mel and his touring friends. The serene landscape of Etyek wine region is simply outstanding and one can visit various family run cellars to get a taste of quality sparkling wines. Budapest is home to some of the most gorgeous monuments in Europe and a visit to its museums and palaces is a real treat for travelers to Hungary.
Costa Rica in the Caribbean is known for its rainforests, volcanoes and gorgeous beaches. Mel has visited the Caribbean multiple times and considers Costa Rica amongst his favourite vacation spots. Taking a hike to Arental Volcano was a scintillating experience for Mel. He also visited to the Hanging Bridges, and the La Fortuna Waterfalls, the sight of which is out of the World, more so when you get an opportunity to swim beneath the waterfalls. One can take a Catamaran cruise off the coast of Costa Rica to witness dolphins, turtles, whales and marine life in their natural habitat. Coastal views from the catamaran cruise are simply spectacular. If you are into rugged adventure, take a tour of the Jaco Jungle for a host of adventure activities such as Zip lining, ATV Riding and horseback riding. All in all, an incredible destination for nature lovers, not far from the US skies.
Mel Gibson counts the Australian outdoors amongst his favourite. Australia's coastal highways are a perfect getaway for a scenic ride through the rugged country. A river cruise through Melbourne, Mel's favourite city in Australia, was a idyllic way to experience this charming Australian city. One can take a full day tour of the spectacular Great Ocean Road to watch the 12 Apostles, and walk inside rainforest in the Great Otway National Park. This is a fantastic tour to witness Australia's surf coast, explore seaside towns, and see koalas in the wilderness. Another of his favourites was visiting Victoria’s top wineries in the stunning Yarra Valley near Melbourne. The ambience of the valley coupled with wine tasting sessions at its popular wineries will leave you asking for more. Australia is a fantastic destination for nature & wildlife lovers and adventure freaks with each of its regions offering something unique. The Mexican city of Cancun bordering the Caribbean Sea is another destination Mel loves to recommend for its incredible beaches, luxury resorts and nightlife. Just a couple of hours flight from Miami, Cancun has a reputation of being Mexico's most popular resort city. One can take a trip to Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula from Cancun to visit the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza to check out this incredible archeological site. Boat parties are a big craze on the Concun sea and all you need to do is buy your tickets to one of the happening ones for a day or night time of fun dancing and drinking on the sea. One can take a catamaran cruise to Isla Mujeres from Cancun, snorkling and diving along the way on this incredible voyage. The Xplor Adventure Park near Cancun is a must visit for those looking for rustic fun, as you splash into the cool water of subterranean rivers; paddle through atmospheric caves or go off-roading.
Mel figures Tuscany in Central Italy and its capital city of Florence amongst the most gorgeous areas in Europe. The Tuscan landscape and architecture have a global appeal and this area receives millions of tourists each year to enjoy the scenic beaches, medieval historical towns, wineries, delicious cuisine and a moderate climate. Popular monuments in the Florence area include the Leaning tower, Cathedral of Santa Maria del fiore, Uffizi gallery, Basilica of Santa Croce & the Boboli Gardens. Take cooking classes for homemade Italian food that will make you popular at gatherings with your friends back home. A cheese and wine tour in Tuscan country will give you a true authentic experience of the Italian country life with memories to cherish for a long time.
