Kento Yamazaki shares his 5 favourite Holiday Destinations

Ranked Asia-Pacific’s Most Influential Celebrities on Social Media by Forbes, Yamazaki Kento is an actor and model with a huge fan following in his home country of Japan,  as well as across many other Asian countries. In his third year of junior high school, on his way home from a soccer game, he was spotted by his current agency on Takeshita Dori (Harajuku) and offered his first modelling contract. He debuted in 2010. He was a model for the magazine Pichi Lemon before making his acting debut in the 2010 television series "Atami no Sousakan." The 2011 release of "Control Tower" was Kento's debut film. He sang and played guitar in this film. He is best known for his roles as L in the live-action television series Death Note (2015) and Minato Shindo in the Japanese medical drama remake Good Doctor (2018), as well as for his roles in the films L DK (2014), Heroine Shikkaku (2015), and Orange (2015).  One of his most popular works is the Netflix series - Alice in Borderland.

Kento has livid memories of his travels to Hawaii and has frequented the islands many times in recent years. Its colorful beaches provide access to a variety of watersports and adventure activities, making it a popular island destination for the Japanese. The catamaran cruise stops at a spot in the ocean called the Turtle Town, where one gets a chance to swim alongside enormous Hawaiian Green sea turtles. One of the best ways to explore Hawaii's turquoise waters and incredible marine life, this excursion is highly recommended for all visitors to the Hawaiian islands. Submarine scooters are another fun option for exploring the deep sea world in Hawaii, especially for those who are not comfortable with snorkeling.

California is a favourite destination for Kento and he's enjoyed his time spent in its coastal towns. Offering a large coastline with glamorous beaches, California offers sea side living at its very best. Take a dinner cruise in San Diego, which is inclusive of gourmet meal, complimentary cocktails and live on-board entertainment, as you cruise 25-miles worth of California’s beautiful coastline admiring its panoramic views. Another fantastic excursion is a visit to the Yosemite National Park, passing through historic Gold Rush towns to reach the park, where you’ll be mesmerized by supersized natural wonders like Yosemite Falls and the granite cliffs of Half Dome and El Capitan. The exotic islands of New Zealand is another favoured destination for Kento Yamazaki. Swimming with Dusky Dolphins off the coast of the small South Island town of Kaikoura is a memory that he cherishes till today. The acrobatic dolphins are playful and love to swim and dive around as you watch them from a close distance. If you do not want to get into waters, there are many whale and dolphin watching cruises available from major touristy places, which can provide you with an equally thrilling ride. New Zealand is a perfect place to visit if you're into adventure or extreme sports. Be it skydiving, bungee jumping, downhill skiing or white water rafting, the possibilities are endless. Kento had a hair raising experience white water rafting in Queensland with his friends and highly recommends the journey on the river rapids.

Spain is a highly diverse country, each Spanish town has its own unique food, pastries, wine and intriguing history and places to visit. With some of the most gorgeous medieval monuments; Spain is as famous for its architecture as it is for its cuisine and wines. Kento had a fantastic time in Madrid and was highly impressed by its iconic landmarks such as Royal Palace of Madrid and the Prado museum. Watching a flamenco dance show in one of Spain’s most esteemed ‘tablaos’ in Madrid, as one enjoys a 4 course lavish Spanish meal and local beers & wines, was an extra-ordinary experience. This electrifying dances from leading performers from across Spain are bound to leave you mesmerized. For the adventurous types, a visit to the Guadarrama Regional Park near Madrid is a must. One can enjoy hot-air balloon on an unforgettable airborne journey as one glides over rustic landscapes scattered with verdant forests, majestic mountains and impressive monuments.

A country for all reasons, Thailand ranks highly on Kento's list of leisure destinations. Popular for its exotic beaches and ancient monuments, plus a remarkably distinct culture & way of life, Thailand has been on the travel list for a vast majority of travelers coming to Asia. Island hopping in Krabi with his close friends on a private yatch is a fond memory with Kento. A barrage of exotic islands such as the James Bond Island, Phi Phi Islands and the Hong Island are accessible, offering world class beaches, water sports activities and gorgeous greens. Animal lovers should pay a visit to the Ao Nang Elephant Sanctuary in Krabi, where one can play with rescued elephants and give them a bathe too. Do visit the Tiger Cave Temple on your visit to krabi, called so because of the rock outgrowth nearby resembling a tiger’s claw. It is a perfect place to practice meditation on the top of Ao Luk Thanu mountain range.
