Diego Luna is a Mexican celebrity who has made his mark in both the Mexican and American film industries. His debut appearance on television was in the drama The Last New Year (1991). In 2001, he had his big break when he was cast in the highly acclaimed film Y tu mamá también (2001) His following success on the American film market included co-starring with Bon Jovi in Vampires: Los Muertos (2002) and the Oscar-winning Frida (2002). Later, he featured in 'Havana Nights: Dirty Dancing 2', the prequel to 'Dirty Dancing,' as well as several other successful films. He is regarded as Mexico's most esteemed living stage, film, and opera set designer and had an illustrious career on stage, in TV as well as the big screen.
Diego loved his time spent in Baja California, Mexico’s coastal state that is home to some of the most exotic beaches & mountains in Mexico. The favourite part of his trip was his stay at an exotic seaside resort in Cabo San Lucas, a tourist hotspot on the southern tip of the state. Their travel party hired a yacht to explore the blue waters and isolated islands off the coast of Los Cabos. Along the way, a brush with the local marine life left them mesmerized. Swimming with the dolphins and watching whale sharks in their natural habitat was an experience of a lifetime for Diego and his friends. Los Cabos is also a foodie’s paradise, there is no dearth of eateries and fine dining restaurants serving delicacies inspired by European and Mexican cuisine. A unique experience in Cabo is the Tequila tour, where you get to sample and choose from a range of local tequila brands to take back home with you.
The naturally diverse Argentina is another favourite travel destination for Diego. His most memorable moment in Argentina was visiting the Iguazu falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and undoubtedly one of the most spectacular natural wonders in South America. One can get quite close to these thundering falls thanks to a network of easily accessible walkways and viewing platforms that offer scintillating views, including some at the bottom of the falls, an area called the Devil's Throat. Patagonia's Los Glaciares National Park should also be included in your itinerary for Argentina. Its an incredible place view popular glaciers, most notably the stunning Perito Moreno Glacier, a massive 30-kilometer-long ice formation that looks other-worldly. Diego loved the city of Beunos Aires for its rich arts and music scene. Watching a Tango show at Tango Porteno with Authentic local cuisine served for dinner was an extremely enjoyable experience.
Jamaica is one of the most exotic of Caribbean countries. Diego had a fantastic vacation with his family in Jamaica, a place known for white sandy beaches, waterfalls and all-inclusive resorts. Home to some of the World’s fastest sprinters and its exceptional blue mountain coffee, Jamaica is a haven for tourists looking for a plethora of water excursions and beach time. Taking a catamaran cruise is one of the best ways to explore the islands and caves scattered across the blue waters of the Caribbean. For a truly authentic local experience, also try Bamboo River rafting on the Marta Brae, Black River, or Rio Grande River. Golf lovers can have a field day in Jamaica, which offers a variety of golf courses with panoramic views and incredible greens at quite an affordable price.
Diego made wonderful memories in Barcelona on his last trip to Europe. Having acted in various Spanish movies and serials, he has a large fan following in Spain and is a frequent traveller here. Popular for medieval monuments such as the Sagrada Familia and Casa Batllo, Barcelona is a delightful city with a vibrant lifestyle. Diego recommends watching a flamenco dance show when in Barcelona, a passionate Spanish dance form known for its romantic and colourful costumes and expression of deep emotions. One can also take a catamaran cruise or hire a yacht to go sailing in the Mediterranean waters around Barcelona. With live musicians and delectable Spanish food on board, this is a remarkable way to enjoy the panoramic views and lively culture of Spain.
Diego considers his vacation in Iceland to be his most exotic holiday his life. Known as the ‘Land of Fire & Ice’ for its contrasting landscape, this Nordic country is a natural wonderland. One must visit the Skógafoss Waterfall, the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland, where popular movies such as Thor, Game of Thrones, and Vikings have been shot. Explore ice caves at the Vatnajokull National Park, formed when water passes through the glaciers. These outstanding natural wonders are bound to mesmerize you. The Northern Lights is another wonder of nature one can witness in Iceland and it is the most extra-ordinary sight. The local Icelandic cuisine primarily comprises of seafood and fish and is a real treat for seafood lovers. Diego loved spending time in the city of Reykjavik, an idyllic seaside town with a vibrant nightlife.
