Goa is one of Amitabh's favourite holiday destinations. He frequently visits the coastal town to unwind and relax with his loved ones. In recent times, he has been seen enjoying a family vacation in Goa with his grandkids Navya Naveli Nanda and Agastya Nanda. He loves to chill out at the idyllic beaches of South Goa, spending quality time at the resort and enjoying the local cuisine. He is also fond of water sports and had a wonderful time speedboating with his family. Goa is inarguably the favourite beach destination for Indians, though it also attracts a significant number of foreigners, especially Russians and Britons. Most luxury resorts with private beaches are located in the south of Goa, which are popular with celebrities and high end travelers. Some of the popular beaches in Goa include the Miramar beach, Candolim beach, Baga beach, Vagator beach, Calangute beach & many more. Popular for a wide variety of Indian style seafood, Goa also has a rich heritage with many Portuguese era Churches and Indian temples. The state is also home to 7 Wildlife sanctuaries which increases its appeal for wildlife lovers and hikers; the largest amongst them being the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary & Mollem National Park

Amitabh is particularly fond of Switzerland, amongst his favourite destinations for overseas holidays. His popular movie with co-star Rekha was shot in Switzerland, and since then, it has become a popular location for bollywood movies with over 200 Indian movies shot in this picturesque country. This landlocked country in Europe, bordered by Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Liechtenstein, is popular for its scenic beauty, skiing, cheese and chocolates. Its well developed tourism sector makes it a top favourite for tourists from the World over. One must visit the charming village of Zermatt located at the foot of the Matterhorn mountain, a top international resort with horse-drawn carriage rides, quaint chalets, and top notch restaurants and resorts. One of the highest mountain peaks in Europe, the Metterhorn attracts thousands of hikers and mountain climbers to its scenic treks. Nestled between Lake Thun to the west and Lake Brienz to the east, Interlaken is also a popular tourist town and one of Switzerland's most popular summer holiday resorts. The gorgeous lake of Geneva, Europe's largest Alpine lake, is another place tourists love to visit on their trip to this gorgeous country.

Amitabh is a big fan of London. He took his wife, Jaya, for their honeymoon in London. He has frequented the city many times since then, for movie shoots, concerts and visiting his brother Ajitabh, who used to stay in London. London is a charming city and a major tourist attraction in Europe. This multi-cultural capital is popular for its medieval monuments, museums, art galleries, lush parks and a vibrant culture scene. Amitabh prefers to stay at St James' Court, which is five minutes from Buckingham Palace, in the heart of the city. He is also a big fan of local cultural shows and operas, and loves the vibe of London's nightlife. Though there is no dearth of attractions in London, one should also take side trips to the English countryside, local villages and gorgeous castles. The English countryside is picturesque and full of architectural monuments and natural wonders such as the Stonehenge. Harry Porter fans must visit the Warner Bros Harry Porter studio, where one can discover the behind-the-scenes secrets of the "Harry Potter" series of movies.

Amitabh Bachchan spent his 75th Birthday with his close family in the island of Maldives, staying at the One & Only Reethi Rah Resort. An epitome of luxury travel with high end resorts built on isolated islands, Maldives is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in Asia. Amitabh is a big fan of beaches and waterfronts, so Maldives was a natural choice for him to celebrate this memorable day. A great place for a private holiday, Maldives also offers a plethora of water sports excursions such as scuba diving, snorkeling, paragliding, water skiing, kayaking and catamaran cruises. One of the best ways to explore the archipelago is to hire a catamaran or a yacht to take a tour of the surrounding areas. Enjoy close encounters with dolphins, turtles and whales as you cruise along the blue sea. For lovers of fine dining, Maldives offers an exquisite range of sea food cuisine that is simply out of the World.

The City Council of the City of Wroclaw in Poland named a Square after Amitabh's father - Lt Harivanshrai Bachchan. Amitabh was in Poland for the ceremony and loved the hospitality showered upon him during his visit. Poland is a historical country with a stunning geography, from the Tatra mountains to the Baltic Sea. Its architecturally rich monuments such as the Lazienki Park Palace in Warsaw, Malbork Castle, Wawel Royal Castle in Krakow and many more are worthy of admiration. A natural wonder of Poland is the the Crooked Forest, where a number of pine trees stand on their own, growing with a 90-degree angle at their base, all bent northward. It is not clear whether this is a natural phenomena or created artificially, but the forest is quite a sight. Poland is a fantastic place to try European cuisine and is overall a much affordable destination as compared to its counterparts in Western Europe.
